This tutorial will show you how to install WordPress from directly from Fantastico, which is located inside your control panel. We will assume that you have already launched the Fantastico application.
To install WordPress, click in the WordPress link on the left hand column. The right hand window will now open a WordPress installation screen. Look down the screen and click on the NEW INSTALLATION link
This will open a new screen. In the first blank box, you will need to enter the name of the directory that you want to install it in, or leave the box blank for installation in to the root directory. In the Admin access data section, enter an admin username and password in the next two boxes. Dropping down, under the section called base configuration, enter an admin email address and a short description in the appropriate boxes.
In the next section, enter the details for the Blog by Email feature. Enter your email, your password, and email server info, usually mail.yourdomain.com and your server port. When you are ready, click the Install button at the bottom of the page. You will now get a confirmation window. If everything seems correct, Click on the Finish installation to complete the installation process.
That is all there is to it. You will now see a screen confirming the install, and a place to enter your email to send yourself the details of the installation. WordPress is now ready for you to begin configuring it. On the confirmation page is a link to you admin. Bookmark this to make reentry easy. Click on this link to login to your new installation.
Login using the admin username and password you assigned during installation. If you return to the scripts home page in your control panel, the installation is now listed. From here you can visit the site, and you can also remove the installation, simply by clicking on the remove link.
